Tricky Trends - The Cape

It's as cute and comfortable as it can be.  You've seen it on the runways, in fashion magazines, and you really want to try the trend yourself.

The cape is not just for superheroes anymore!  Get from superhero to street style.  You can wear a cape, be comfy and stylish too!

How to wear it?  You ask.  Pair it with fitted pieces to keep your silhouette slender and avoid shoulder bags when wearing a cape.  Choose a clutch style bag instead for a smooth look that doesn't overwhelm or wear a smaller shoulder bag as a clutch which is very 'in' this season.

Skinny jeans, leggings and slim skirts are the perfect way to go when pairing for the bottom half.  Think slender on bottom to balance off the fullness of the cape.  Pair it with the lace up wedge boots so popular this season or any boot that isn't bulky looking.  Riding boots look great here as do the over-the-knee styles.

Although the vibe is bundled and comfy, opt for pieces that incorporate stylish details to look put together and up-to-the-minute.

As far as accessories, only wear a necklace if the neckline has a cowl neck, turtle neck or a simple neckline.  And then don't over do it.  Simple is better.  An armful of bangles or a large cuff bracelet works well on the wrist as well as a simple bag as stated above.
